I think PM should give mods ability to a few active community members. This way double posts, spams, private info and other things can be manage quickly by eligible community members who have privileges.

Just my thought if this is possible with Lithium forums..

Yes, this would help make things more efficient on the forum.  I posted a similar idea awhil back regarding the general structure of the forum.

It sounds like a good idea, in theory. the issue is that you already have people that are abusing the system by having multiple accounts, and representing themselves as individual contributers. because they have multiple PM accounts, with different cell phone numbers.

You risk comments that should be available to the "Community" being deleted just because they are not "in line" with the "philosophical" beliefs of an individual.

The sad truth about these types of boards is that there are always the few that ruin the experience for the whole.... Although I feel that there are some people who are actually wanting to help other people on here, many of the replies are negative and condescending, posted by power tripping, uneducated, low lives living in their mothers basements playing video games all day while they post on PM's community.

Moderation can only be provided by professional individuals that have something to loose, i.e. employees of Telus/Public Mobile, and not just some guy who knows how to unlock iPhones or install Cyanogenmod on his unlocked Android phone...

This is serious stuff, and the implications for PM are that one ill conceived reply to a post by a new customer could turn the tides on whether or not a customer stays a customer.

I am actually embarrassed that I was nieve and wasted $160 transferring to this service, when I had perfectly great service with Telus, and now I am stuck with this, because there is no way I’ll get a refund...

Everything worked well, until it didn’t and then there was no real support to be found, the forums are condescending children, as I’ve already stated, and the actual email support is worse... I mean, they told me to “power cycle [my] phone” which was the first thing that I did, and the issue persists.

I seriously hope that my issue gets resolved, and I can become a happy customer again, but 3 days of not being able to call the few people that I need to reach on my personal phone is unacceptable.

Sorry for atwab's experience given that it has been worth any aggro for me to leave Telus.

Nervertheless, I agree that having Community members as moderators is not worth the risk. PM employees should continue that role.

  • I really think this is a little too harsh? I definitely agree that improvements are needed in the Community, and I can assure you there will be improvements in 2016.
  • Not everyone is a telecom specialist, most have other jobs and still put in a lot of time trying their best to answer/support the Community as best as possible. I don't believe that they are uneducated or low-lives. However, there is always room for improvement - like anything else in life.

  • I do agree with this, especially when dealing with account information and this will not change.
  • I do believe there is a possibility to unlock certain restrictions to our Super Users, such as editing, or moving posts/spam to have the Community more organized. I believe this is what the OP was referring too.

Thank you once more for your opinion! It's greatly appreciated!
