Back to School plan for kids

Suggestion to attract more customers:

a "BACK TO SCHOOL" plan for children.... no provider offers a cheap plan for parents who would like to offer their kids a cell phone.....why? here is my problem ( as many other parents have too! 😞

my daughter is 10 years old and we will start allowing her to walk back home from school alone as it is only a short walk but of course we need to stay in touch with her ....she is old enough now to get her own cell phone ( with restricted use of course ) but the plans which are offered are redicolous as they are catered to adults.....parents nevertheless look for super cheap "beginner" plans which still offer enough minutes and unlimted texting ( internet would be of the lower priorities) without the big price of prepaid or such ... even with public mobile the bill still comes to more than 30.00/month ......

so maybe an super affordable plan that caters to children would rumble up the industry

Unlikely I think. PM does not offer specials rather excellent prices for some users and nothing super cheap.

Try:

a) Koodo unlimited texting $15/mo; calling add-on $25 for 500 minutes

b) emergencies only speakout7eleven.ca as low as $25/year, strictly pay as you go; combine it with a texting app for use only over wifi. I think much safer since almost all online activity is at home. This is how we started my grandchildren. They also offer unlimited SMS texting add-on for $10/month, picture messaging extra.

c) Telus $100/yr for 400 minutes, 400 texts, then pay as you go for additional uses and for data. Again could be combined with texting app over wifi since you likely prefer most activity to be based at home.

Remember to turn off location for photos otherwise anyone who gets a photo from her, or forwarded by a friend, will know her location.
