It would be really nice if there was the possibility to pause your plan for a while say when on vacation out of country. Perhaps a minimum payment of $5/m to just keep your account in good order and not loose your phone number or your rewards for when you get back. Number of days left till your plan runs out gets frozen as is till you unpause your account. For instance for someone who works overseas for a couple months out of the year or someone who wants to vacation for a few months. Would be really nice to not have to pay for your service while you are not even in the country to use it. Especially since there aren't good roaming plans available. If there were good intenational roaming plans available, it wouldn't be and issue.

Would also be nice if it was available for more than the 90 days of inactivity before your account gets closed and you lose your number. The only way I see to maintain your rewards now if you went on vacation would be to reduce your plan to something as low as you can go without dropping below the ammount of your monthly rewards if you don't want to lose them forever.

I've heard of some companies doing something similar, just can't think of any that do in Canada. Might even be helpful to someone who is just down on their luck and can't afford to pay this month too. Let them keep their account open till they get back on their feet and can start paying again. Without them risking loosing their phone number.

Hello,

As you said in a previous post, you are aware of customers being able to go 90 days without paying, and still maintaining their account (including their phone number). This option benefits those out of the country and individuals down on their luck, as long as payment is made no later than 90 days after plan expiry.

FYI.

@Martin And based on what you posted in response to that post, and what I read about the rewards system, I would guess that you would then lose all rewards earned to that point permanantly and be back to paying full price. So I'll edit my proposal to take that into consideration.

This would be a great feature for someone like me who spends a few months back in my home country and the rest of the time here in Canada. For now, I see that you have the option to switch to a 90 day plan with no talk, text or data for 25 bucks, which is about $9.40 each month to keep your accountn active.

@yellowpolin problem with that solution is that when you switch to a new plan, you lose all your data, mins, etc that you would have had left in your plan. So day you're 30 days into a 90 day plan and a relative dies and you need to fly out to attend the funeral etc. You might as well stay on the plan you have because switching to the 90 day for $25 plan will get rid of the remaining 60 days you already paid, then when you go to switch back, you basically pay for the entire 90 days again in addition to the $25 and the wasted 60 days left when you switched. Honestly you would have been better off staying your plan. Unless of course you plan your trip to leave just before your 90 days ends, then stay away for 89 or so days. Because if you're just fine for a week, you just paid $25 for a week of no service. I was proposing a hold so if you have 52 days left and 1Gb of data say and you or a hold on your account, once you remove the hold, you still do.
