Koodo Prepaid to PM Port

Hey all,

New PM user here and I'm looking to port in my number from Koodo Prepaid.

Message to mods has been sent as of Sunday with wait times from Simon saying that it'll just be under a couple of hours to get a response back.

However, I recently read in one of the posts that the account needs to be Active in order for the number to be ported.

Unfortunately, my base plan expires tonight (Tuesday, September 10).

In the event that the port isn't completed by then, does the information above hold true?

Will I have to renew my base plan in order to complete the port?

If so, my stay here may very well be short-lived since I'll start accumulating credits with Koodo Prepaid again, but any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Koodo Prepaid to PM Port

You can port your phone number using the self serve account. It took me less than an hour to port my old fido prepaid number.

Instructions:

1. Log in to your self serve account

2. Click on the Plan and Add-ons tab

3. Click on change phone number tab

4. Choose the second option "Transfer a wireless or wireline number ..."

5. Enter your old phone number and account number

@christian4ngeloYou can try the following:

Call 1-877-868-3587 and follow the instructions below:
Prompt 1: say "English"
Prompt 2: say either "Representative"

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is the Telus porting centre. They do work on behalf of all Telus subsidiaries of which Public Mobile is one of them. However, they DO NOT have access to your Public Mobile account what so ever. They are however capable of troubleshooting and fixing Ports ALREADY in progress.

Hope this helps!

@yhc01For your information you cannot port a Koodo prepaid number using selfserve. It must be done by the Moderator Team.

Yes you would have to have an active base plan.

I’m not exactly sure why Public is making it so difficult.

The reason it is this way is because Public Mobile and Koodo Prepaid both share the same backend, making it impossible for a customer to port through self-serve.

Re: Koodo Prepaid to PM Port

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Unfortunately, the port request is not in progress so I am unable to call the Telus number listed.

Here's to hoping that @Moderator_Team takes a look at my port request before my base plan expires tonight.
