Are you getting a new number or porting in an existing number?

Either way, possibilities:

• Your phone is locked to your previous network.
• Your phone is not compatible with PM. The IMEI checker does give false positives.
• SIM card is defective (Extremely rare!)

@Maya111, was this an online activation or was it done at a retailer?  Are you able to go into your account see if it is active?  Was a number port involved in the activation?  These are some basic information we will need to assist with troubleshooting.
