@Graham21 correct. No international add-on the call won't work.

You can buy one of those $2 calling cards that are sold at corner stores where you call a 1800 number then punch in the calling card pin, etc.

It's $8 for a 200 USA minute add-on with public mobile. It will rollover until all used up.

You could also consider downloading TEXTNOW. You get a Canadian number in your area where you can call/text Canada and USA for free over Wi-Fi..great for while on vacation in another country.

Or use whatspp, hangouts or any of the other apps like messenger etc.

You could also simply text the person you want to reach in USA and have them call you.

@Graham21  You can buy the international add on which includes the USA. 400 International minutes (list of countries is available) for $15. The minutes never expire.

So if I do not have any international calling add-on,  a phone call to USA just won't work ? it won't go to a default rate.. thanks for this information.     An alternative solution I can think of is to get one of those $5 for 390 mins cards, you have to dial a number in canada first, then your number,  and the $5 expires after 6 months, but they are cheaper than a $15 add on

What happens if I call internationally without having the addon?  I've the $40 plan.  Will this incur a fee of some sort?

It just won't work. No extra surprise charges here.

Hi,

Did PM add more countries to this list of countries?

@Tavia Nope, only the countries on Martin's list. This app works well for other countries; http://www.ciciphonecard.com/cicimobile, or if you're willing to use a VOIP app (needs wifi or cellular data connection) check out fongo.com.

Good luck.

Merry Christmas.

Hello,

For $15, you can spend a total of 400 minutes calling 18 international locations, plus Canada and the USA. Since this is an add-on, it is not time-limited; it expires only when the last minute is used. Further, due to its being an add-on, you would first need a Canada-wide or provincial Talk plan.

At $15 for 400 minutes, regardless of international location, that works out to 3.75¢ per minute.

Aside from Canada and the USA, the following locations can be called from within Canada:
. China
. France
. Germany
. Greece
. Hong Kong
. India
. Italy
. Malaysia
. Mexico
. Poland
. Portugal
. Puerto Rico
. Singapore
. South Korea
. Spain
. Thailand
. United Kingdom
. Venezuela

I hope that this has answered your question.

Public Mobile only has 18 International countries on list.

Hoping they add more

Hi. International Long-Distance calls are as far as I know, One Rate, and use Mins from same International Long-Distance.

This is NOT the same as an phone card you buy from a Store

Like, 0.05 permin in Can, or $1.50 per Min in there.

One fee for Global Add-On, no gimmicks
