just before leaving Canada, log in to your Public Mobile account and declare your cell as Lost / Stolen. That will cease plan for up to 90 days from that time....just make sure to Resume your service before 90 days. Best is to resume it after 80-85 days...just in case things get sideways you'll have a few days to straighten it out.

Halimacs is correct.
However, just be aware that whatever renewal plan that you already paid for will continue to be used up while your plan is suspended..
For example, you already paid for $150 on a renewal date on March 15. On March 20th you suspend your account as described below. On March 21, you go on your vacation. 80 days later, you reactivate your service.
In the above example, you will find that the $150 that you spent on March 15th has continued to run and that your plan will expire 90 days later, on or about June 13th. In this particular example, suspending your account does nothing to save you any money.
In order to save money in the above example, you would have had to suspend your account before renewing on March 15th, say March 14th. You would then have no service from March 14th to March 21 when you leave on your trip. Only then will you save money while you were away until you return.
That is why I'm not a big fan of 90 day plans. It is easier to save some money on a 30-day plans, which provides more flexibility in those situations.

Log into your self-serve, go to Manage My Subscription, toggle OFF the subscription status.
Then, when your current cycle ends, there'll be no payment taken from the registered payment card. You'll have 90 days to resume the service after which the account is lost permanently.
Plan accordingly; recommendation is to resume the services 85 days after suspension begins.
