@telefoon1 this can be done easily. Just get a sim card from your local Telus or Koodo store (do not order from PM online as it will take long for them to fulfill the order)
Once you got the sim card, just login to My Account, go to Profile page, Edit Account Info and then there you will see the box for sim card info for you to put your new sim card number there to tie up with your account

You can use a new SIM card and add it to your account. That will make the other sim card inactive and you get to keep your number.

You can change your SIM card via My account page. Need to have 2FA to enter your self service account or to change SIM card number. Either via email or text 2FA.
Buy a new SIM card. Do not activate a new account. Just change in your self service account.
