You are mixing up air time with top-up/voucher. Some of us including me referred air time as Talk option in your plan.
The sim will not work without completing the activation process. When you activate, you will have to choose one of the currently available plans. Whatever you choose for 30 or 90 days, you will have that service.

Are you saying, you didn't have a credit card available?
You need to pay using your credit card before your sim card will work

Use your vouchers to make the payment

@RODNEY2008Is your phone unlocked? It sounds like you have only partially completed the sign-up process. I will let an oracle chime in but I think you need to actually pay before the service is officially up to work in your phone.

This may be an excellent idea. I have seen your recent posts and to be totally honest, I cannot figure out exactly what you are asking about. So you could benefit greatly from a full service carrier brand.

Theres is a great promotion right now to get a $20 bill credit, and a FREE new sim card from walmart. please see this link
Suspended account are deleted from the system after 90 days. Once the account is gone, the SIM card cannot be reused again. That said, a SIM card associated with a continually active account has no "freshness" date. You can keep on using that SIM card as long as you want. I don't where you come up with a one year limit.
@will13amI was under the impression of 1 year from another post I read. But I will remember 90 days and edit my post, thank you.

@RODNEY2008 Sorry you are having so much trouble, I am just a regular customer with public mobile and my personal experience to sign up was slightly harder than going to the store and getting them to do it but once I spend the 20 minutes to get up and running my service has been flawless and I pay half of what I would anywhere else. To me its worth it.I save $100's per year.

Because this is a prepaid service there wouldn't be any point in having the sim without air time, texts, or data. Once you add something the sim will start working.

You can choose not to have talk and only have text or data. If the sim was activated before, you cannot use it again. If you use the sim number to activate here, you will get an invalid sim error. If you don't get that error, your sim was not activated before.

Ok so if its a new sim card follow these instructions
You won't get a phone number by simply pluggin in a brand new sim card. Once the sim card is registered to your account and you pay for service you will get a number.
You also want to make sure your blackberry is unlocked to work with public mobile.

Have you activated your sim card on the public mobile activation page? Do you have a self serve account?
06-13-2018 11:46 PM
If you’ve gone thru the activation process you should be able to plug in the SIM and check for service.
06-13-2018 11:46 PM
What do you mean by active SIM card? If you have not used it to activate an account, then it can be used to activate an account. If your SIM card is tied to an active account, then you can put it into a phone and the phone will connect to the network.

Is it a brand new sim card? The sim card expires after 90 days of having a deactivated account.
