I have just activated my new SIM card to public mobile but the number assigned to me is also using someone else too.How do I change my number.Please help.

My situation had Telus assign my number to someone else when I was a Rogers customers. Telus had to assign that customer a new number, just as you're going to have to choose a one. Please follow the steps mentioned earlier in this thread.

but it's not far fetched. I had the opposite happen when I signed up. I seemed to had taken over someone elses number. Sucks for them but I just thought it was a wrong number and kept my new-to-me number.
The number isn't assigned to you though...you would have had the opportunity to select it from a list.

I am sure because when I call my new number from another mobile someone else pick it up .

@Riyasat786 - Are you sure that the new number assigned to you is already being used by someone? How did you come to this conclusion?
If you would like to change your number, just log into your self serve portal, go to Plan and Add-ons, then Change My Number and then follow the instructions from there.
