Yes, you need to keep your account active in order to port your number to Public Mobile. It will be deactivated once the port is complete.

Hi Mary, Thank you for your help with porting my old phone # from PC mobile to PM....much appreciated. Once I tagged you (which I didn't now I needed to do that) ...it didn't take long for the porting to happen.
I have confirmed with PC mobile that my old # has been ported to PM... I have tested the service with PM so far no problem....receiving text, sending text and calling out and receiving call also works.....Thanks again!

hi , so what you are saying is that you have 2 phones fully working and your problem is trying to port your old number, this is what i will do on PCmobile i will change as pay as you go call forward the calls from PC mobile to PM number till the problem is solved, so you wont pay to much and see that the savings that you will get later will be greater that what you are paying now, i did something similar i have a contract with bell till mid december so i sign for PM , the way i see it is the $40 thaat i'm paying extra is like i was using bell for a couple of months, but in the long way i will save more
cheers

The moderators need:
- your PM phone number, or account number
- Virgin phone number
- Virgin account number and owner's name EXACTLY as shown on your Virgin bill
Plan for a delay:

Have you tagged a Mod? ( @Shazia_K ) I already did so no worries. But also send them a private message to one of them. Below is a good thread for how to get in touch with them
