question about SIM card transfer

Jamiebouchie

My daughter broke her android phone so I put her sim in her iPad to use until her new iPhone arrives. But the iPad doesnt seem to work on data. It is a cellular model. It shows the network carrier as public mobile and says 3G or LTE in top corner of screen but when you open safari it says check internet connection. I have data roaming enabled in settings of iPad. Is there something I'm missing? Shouldnt it just work?

Thank you

After verifying APN settings, try:

  • rebooting device
  • toggling airplane mode on/off
  • resetting network connections
  • you may also wish to try the PM SIM card in another device, just to make sure it wasn't affected by the damage to the original Android device

I have iPad 6th Gen wifi+Cell.

I dont see that option in the list.

Go to this site Public Mobile APN Settings - APN Settings Canada (gishan.net) pick what iPad you have and follow the instructions

It's APN setting

also, you can try to connect your iPad to a computer, fire iTune and download the Carrier Profile

for APN: https://apn-canada.gishan.net/en/apn/public-mobile/ios

In APN settings it says ips.telus.com

and then below that has spot for a username and password which are both blank

You may have to go in and check the APN settings
