Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has joined public points yet? If so, could you please answer this for me? Do you need to accumulate a minimum number of points before redeeming them? For example, can you redeem 2 points/month to maintain the equivalent discount that autopay gives you or do you need a minimum of 10 or 15 points before you can choose a discount option for your bill? If there are minimums, what are they and for which services?
I found that the description of public points on the website is a little vague. If I switch, I'll actually be losing the equivalent of $0.25/ month in my autopay rewards as you only get 5% back of what you spend on your monthly bill. And yes, you get 10 points on your anniversary so that would make up for it plus some, but you'll have to wait until/after that date to access/use them. I appreciate any information anyone has. Thanks!

To put it simply....Do not switch. Cash in your pocket is always better than points that have limited redemption options. Rewards have an immediate cash value because less money is coming out of your pocket to pay your bill.

@aj12 : Just for some further clarification on the above...the current loyalty goes up to $60 per year ($5/30 day term). The new one only stays at 10 points ($10).

On the current (old) system, you get $12/year ($1/30-day cycle) after each year of loyalty.
On the new system, you get $10/year (in equivalent points) after each year of loyalty.
The only real 'winners' of the new Public Points system are those on $40+ plans and those who frequently rely on purchasing add-ons.
For the rest, staying on the old plan is the way to go.
Just my personal opinion - to each their own.

@aj12 I haven't join and will stay on the old system.
Yes, you can not use 1 or 2 points at a time. You need to cumulate 15 points to redeem for $15 bill credit
yes, $2 Autopay discount will be gone and replace by 5%
One advantage is that you get to redeem Add-on cheaper than the old system , around 33% off for most add-ons.
Also you can use as little as 1 point to get into their jackpot/draw
