You mean from your previous provider? You'd need to repurchase another one then to receive the SMS. But support will guide you through it from here.

Do you have the SIM from your previous provider on a different phone? If you are running 2 SIMs on the same phone, only 1 SIM can be set to receive text. Call the toll free number in the link below to see if your port is in the queue. If not, use the chat link in the lower right corner of the web page to initiate a support ticket.

Since you never got the sms then yea. Did you close the account prior to requesting to port? Account must be active to port.

Did you just join?
Try network reset.
Turn airplane mode, wait 1 minute, turn it off. Restart your phone.
Might need to do this several times.
For physical SIM card, if you have another phone, test it there for service.

What is the make and model of your phone?
It requires VoLTE compliance for it to make and receive calls.
