Hi

Today I received a call from some one alleging that my phone no. is compromised and it is used for fraud. Is doing this really possible? what can be done?

@rezakousha

If it's a border agent saying they intercepted a suspected drug smuggling package and need your banking info just tell them "Cops are on their way!" and hang up.

@rezakousha   sound to me more  a scam then anything.  Many calls like this these days

If it was a recorded message I would say a scam, if it is someone calling you back saying they received a call from your number then it would be someone spoofing your number.  Not much you can do but ignore the scam, and unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do about the spoofing.  I had my own number call me once (was my landline)

My guess is that that person is getting calls from someone that is spoofing your number. Not much you or they can do about it.

It is possible, but I would be wary that whoever is contacted you may also be some sort of scam. What did they say?
