@John_murray yeah I used to get locked out of my sim all the time back in the day 10-15 years ago when this was the only way of putting a security code on your phone. I didn't think anyone would still do this lol. if you enter the PUK code wrong 10 times your sim will be permanently blocked. make sure to keep the code, so if you ever lock yourself out again you don't have to ask the moderators for it.

@John_murray Who is your previous provider? Go to the site or call them. If your phone is older then 2017 this applies if its newer then that this does not apply to Canadian sold phones. This code it asks for is the unlock code from your provider.

Here is a site that will help you with unlocking your phone:

Re: Need a PUK Code - Moderator Please Help

Here is a detailed explanation by one of the Oracle's Luddite. "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK."  is asking for the phone’s (often Samsung) “master code" after entering the wrong code too many times. Samsung and/or your previous carrier can give you this.   "SIM network unlock PIN"  is asking for your previous carrier's unlock code - just contact them with your IMEI and they'll give it to you. If you enter this incorrectly too many times, you'll get the error message above.   “PIN unlock key (PUK)”  is a SIM-specific code used to prevent unauthorised use of a SIM card.  The PIN (Personal Identification Number) enables secure access to the SIM card and network. It is provided with your SIM card.  If the PIN code is entered incorrectly 3 times, the phone is locked (except for emergency calls) and requires a PUK (Personal Unlock Key) to reactivate it. Once the PUK is recovered and validated, you will be asked to choose a new PIN. Only Public Mobile's moderators can give you this type of code, which the device manufacturer cannot. Public Mobile's moderators can be contacted at the following address:   https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 Caution! If the PUK is entered incorrectly ten times in a row, the SIM card becomes unusable.

@John_murray Your phone might be locked to the previous provider. You must get the Network Unlock PUK code from your previous provider.

If your phone is a Samsung you might be able to get an unlock code from the Samsung website via chat.

To start a chat session from Samsung's webpage, go here: http://www.samsung.com/ca/info/contactus.html?CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000170.

 @John_murray

What exact message is the phone showing?

It could be that the phone is locked. You need to talk to your previous provider and get it unlocked.

If you have a Samsung phone then they have a method to give you a code.

If it's a phone from out of country then you might need to pay a service to give you an unlock code.

But if it's your SIM that you might have at one time set a PIN on then you would need to contact the moderators.
