moving a plan from one phone/sim to another?

If I purchase one of the plans for my daughter right now, can I move that exact same plan a new SIM in 9 months (when my contract with Telus ends?) I'd like to take advantage of the great plans right now, but it's more then my daughter needs, and I've got a device balance until next June 😞

You can sign up now, and pay off your device balance.  No early penalty.  You just pay what you owe on the device, and any partial payment for the current billing period.

This has been the law for that few years.

Not to mention your daughter would lose her tell number inn the above situation.

I would

1) buy a sim and activate at home to take advantage of the 25$ refer a friend credits, if you need a referral ask someone on the forums via private message

2) activate the 10$ plan

3) futuredate the promo you want

4) let plan expire this will give you 90 days to renew the plan

5) renew the plan and let it expire again until you need it.

The above will give 120 per cycle 30 active +90 inactive

The first cycle costs 10sim +10,plan - 25= -5

The second cycle =plan cost -5

You could try the following:

1. Buy a PM plan for your daughter now.

2. When your device balance ends in June, port your number from Telus to PM, and use that plan for yourself.  However, at that point, you would need to buy a new SIM and plan for your daughter to use.
