Yes, you can disable iMessage. But you are running the risk of not getting messages from your friends and friends using iPhone iMessage. Better way is to keep iMessage enabled and enable the SMS/MMS under iMessage settings

It's a good idea to specify sms instead of iMessage in settings as it will save your data, it's unlimited as long as you are using sms, bit iMessages use data which is limited

Hi! If you are using an iPhone just make sure that if the message isn't sending, hold onto the message for 1 to 2 seconds and press "send as text message" when it comes up.
Either do this, or when your data runs out, turn off your iMessage completely so it will automatically send as a text message.
This should resolve your issue.

@hawkella or use it only on WiFi. Also turn off wifi+. It uses plan data when your wifi is spotty. Stay safe.

the issue is i have unlimited texting. Adding more data is not the solution.

So just turn imessage off. Thanks!

You can make use of wifi or get the 1GB of data add-on for $15. Any unused data left at your next renewal will just roll over until you need it next time.
Make sure to enable wifi on your phone, if you haven't already.

@hawkella of your phone is an iPhone and you are using Imessage it requires either wifi or plan data to work. Enable sms amd mms and use that when your data is finished. It doesn't require plan data. Stay safe.
