Do you REALLY expect cell towers to send signal 10km above the earth?

Unless airplane offers such service (for a big charge) there will be no mobile service in a plane way above the earth.

@Rising1000

Shouldn’t you have your phone on airplane mode while in the plane?

PUBLIC MOBILE has no service outside Canada, Mexico and us. You won’t have service in DR.

1. not possible to get mobile signal when the flight is in full height.
Mobile signal can typically reach up to 10,000 feet (approximately 3,000 meters) in altitude only.  And at you said, you are at 30,000.

So, usually, you will loss your mobile signal within 2 mins after take off
