@will13am it's not unprecedented. They did the same thing with the Ideas Lab. I still get the odd bravo from somoene discovering a link to an idea I posted like 3 or 4 years ago, LOL.
If I had to guess at the motivation for the KB disappearance, it would be that they want to replace that avenue of assitance content with the newer help page stuff they've been building out. Or SIMon
