just bought US roaming app - message minutes all used up - doesn't make any sense

I bought the US roaming talk/text app today.

But when I made a call (in the US), I got a message saying it could be completed because I've used up all of my minutes.

This doesn't make any sense.  Does it? 

Please advise.

What phone do you have? It has to be enabled for VoLTE.

Google you phone model and "enable Volte" and there may be advice on how to enable the Volte on your particular phone.

also try with +1 in front of the 10 digits
