So since this member upgraded to a 4G plan in Feb 2025, as the 3G plan was being phased out there are continual problems with calls not connecting from locations that are standard local calling areas that previously were never an issue. The Samsung model phone is in good working order however incoming or outgoing calls will randomly not connect, Would like to know if there is any known reason for this inconsistent connection issue

it actually not a problem with the plan but a problem with the latest change in the 3G network and the phone itself
what phone do you have? PM uses Telus and Bell Network. Telus is in the process or realigning some 850 Mhz channel on its 3G network for other use. People who have phones that is not whitelist on PM VoLTE list (some older phones) and those do not have 1900Mhz (phones that are not designed primarily for North America) will have voice trouble.
So, depends on the phone you have, it might not be something that can be fixed unless you change phone, or if your phone has VoLTE, then you can move to Koodo or Telus

the 3g network in some areas, is being phased out. You'll need a newer cellphone that is on the Public Mobile VoLTE whitelist in order to make / rec calls in those areas.
