 @LurganIeUk : If one were to parse out the OP, not sure what "data minutes" means (maybe a comma needed in there?) but he says "promo and giveway minutes" so that suggests he has some gifts on hand. Then that was answered by Dunkman.

The above then needs to be bought to the attention of @johnpublic so it is clear that not every add on will work. And if is new....not likely will he have.

The original 400 minute, the last 2 Xmas gifts, the 1000 minute gift out west and a little reactivate gift included Canada. And of course the $5 one. Other than that...no.

Correct. if you run out of regular plan minutes, then your other talk minute add ons will be used.  If you use up all those minutes, your talk will just stop working. No surprise charges or overages with Public mobile.
