iMessage & FaceTime can’t activate with my number

JuliaKoochin

Hi there,

I recently activated a Public mobile eSIM and successfully ported my number from Bell. Data is working but my iMessage and FaceTime will not activate with my phone number.

My phone number does not appear under “Send & Receive” in iMessage settings, and I keep getting prompts that MMS requires a valid number I have already reset network settings, restarted the phone, toggled iMessage off/on, and ensured the number is set correctly on my phone settings.

Please verify that my number is fully provisioned for SMS and that your network is allowing the activation SMS to reach Apple server. At +447786205094

Thank you

@Rastin if you meant that +44 number, that is an Apple number, no harm

Not sure what that number is but if it's an account or some other private number you should remove it as this is a public forum anyone can see it.  Use the down arrow on the right of your post to edit it.

You can also try disabling iMessage and Facetime, then logging out of your Apple ID. Then log back in and turn them back on.

first, can you receive incoming calls and text?  If you can, then it is good, just a problem with iMessage/Facetime

go into Settings to remove the phone number first.  Then reboot phone, and go back to Settings and enter the phone number back.  It will then try to re-register but it could take as long as 15 mins

if still fails, wait a day and try again (remove phone number, reboot, and reenter)
