If I want to temporarily use another phone and switch back to my regular one later, how do I do that with an eSIM?

@SharonF Download the Public Mobile app on the new phone, log in to your account and purchase an esim. When you want to switch back you will have to do the same with the regular phone. This is where a physical sim card is easier, just take it out of one phone and put it in the other.

Hello @SharonF
Very easy actually. You switch to your new phone, download the app, log in, purchase a new eSIM. As long as you purchase one at $5, each one after that is free.
