i can send and recieve text messages and make calls, but i cant get data to work and the carrier is showing as telus. PM wont show up at all in the mobile network options

Carrier showing Telus at noficartion bar can be ignored. It is the software doing it. Do you mean Telus is the name of the APN? If it is, use instructions from before to change.

Yeah, as srlawren said above about setting up the APN manually, my friend has samsung phone and he had to set his APN again to Public few times now to get his data to work again.

@faytetho some phones (in paritcular, most/all Asus models, but potentially others as well) don't know about Public Mobile and set the APN incorrectly to Telus. You're probably going to have to manually create the APN entry for public mobile. https://apn-canada.gishan.net/en/apn/public-mobile
