Wrong phone number selected when porting over on new sim

Hey guys, I helped my friend activate a new sim and we used my her proper serial number and account info however we noticed we put the wrong phone number in and it seemed to take, she picked the plan and it all went through, only thing is we noticed after several hours it wasn’t working and noticed the mistake. How can we fix this?

I learned so much from this.  I had my cell phone on my dads accounta and found out about public.  I asked my dad if he would create an account for me and port my phone number over to public.  He was having a rough day and his mind was on something else and requested a port of my moms number from another carrier.  This caused a bit of a mess with both companies but it is fixable....here are the steps.  

 

Step #1:  you have to contact a moderator from public through this system in the community.  It is a private email to the company.  Explain your situation in detail with specific information (phone numbers / Serial numbers / Carriers) for each phone. 

 

Step #2:  Public must cancel a port request with the carrier specifying the phone number for which the port request was made

 

Step #2 Correctly request the port request from the correct company.  

 

Step #3 Wait 30 minutes - 2 1/2 hours for the port to complete.

 

Step #4 Turn off and turn on your phone and the number should be correct.  

 

It is a simple process but can be confusing.  The Moderators may not fully know what is going on so they need detailed information to work with.  Good luck.

I guess you will need to privately contact the moderators with the number chosen and the 4 digit number you sign up with.
