I manage 4 different public mobile accounts using Gmail alias accounts for my immediate family members and 1 friend...
I have been doing this successfully for years and login in is no issue with all my accounts assuming I remember the password.
I must have changed one of the passwords at one time cause I can't access one of the accounts... And I don't have access to that phone for an SMS code. I need to reset via email ASAP family emergency (Bad Separation). However when you go to reset a password choosing Email for the code... The reset won't allow the use of a + Symbol in the email address. So I can't reset, cause I never get the reset code cause it's sending to the wrong address without the + Symbol.
The ability to use the + Symbol in entering the email address during the reset should work just as it does during login process.?
Please advise. I'd like to gain access to the account and change the phone number ASAP.
Thank you,
Jonathan

@J_PM- This is a password reset glitch that should be fixed. The activation page will happily take the + in the address. It has worked up until recently-ish. The + can still be in the login id. But the password reset will not allow the + to be typed.
The . can still be used all around but that doesn't help being able to reset the password where the email address has a + in it. So that's where the problem is. Trying with the base, non-aliased address doesn't go anywhere obviously because the account email address has the + or . in it.
Adding - apart from the @, I can type an underscore _ a dash or hyphen - an apostrophe ' and of course the dot . . I think this is called field data entry masking. Maybe filtering. Wikipedia has a reference of legal characters in the local-part (before the @).

@Poobah1972 as @softech mentioned, contact a CS Agent to help changing email address to one without a symbol.
As a suggestion you could use an outlook.com address to manage these accounts and have a forward rule that forwards to your gmail account. Outlook.com allows you to create up to 10 aliases per email address per year and they can be completely different aliases not just aliases with symbols. See this article for more info,
Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com - Microsoft Support
There is also some arbitrary limitation where you can only add/remove aliases 2 times per 7 day period. Keep that in mind if you go down this route and get some error trying to delete or add an alias at some point.

yes, + as alias is no longer allowed on this My Account
Please open ticket with PM Support and ask them to change to another email address, maybe using a dot as alias
1. Open ticket with Chatbot for faster response (2-48 hours), using direct link: https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.
Start by typing "Forgot Login Information", then click "Contact Us",, then click "Click here to submit a ticket ↗"
2. if you have problem with Chatbot: Private message CS Agent at:
