Will the LG A448 work on the Public Mobile network?

Hello,

I am currently with Wind (Freedom) Mobile and want to switch to Public Mobile, but I am not sure if my phone is supported. Can anyone confirm if it will work on the Public Mobile network? I tried the IMEI checker and it does not seem to work. It's asking for a 15 digit IMEI and I have 17 digits. Entering the first 15 digit says my phone is not supported and to check with the community.

As above, the F4NR C441 from either Rogers or Bell would work after unlocking it.

Wind's F4NR (LGA448) is not compatible with Public (even if you get it unlocked).  LG Canada's spec page is at http://www.lg.com/ca_en/cell-phones/lg-LGA448

Hi @tissan!

Looking at the link you provided, this phone is missing the compatible 3G bands.. namely 850 and 1900 MHz of 3G.  Note that it lists these bands under 2G connectivity... and that will not work because PM/TELUS do not operate on a 2G network.  

If you are in possession of this phone, go to settings>>About phone and check the exact model number again.  If its the LGC441 by any chance, then it is actually compatible with PM's 3G network.  The LGC441 is the same exact phone (F4NR) but sold by Rogers I believe.  

The other option is to borrow a friend's PM or Telus or Koodo sim and check if your phone connects to the network.

@tissan, that IMEI checker I beleive only checks to see if your phone is on the balck list of lost or stolen phones.  Your phone first of all must be unlocked to any network or locked to Telus/Koodo/PM network.  The best site to check your phone at is www.willmyphonework.net
