I am wondering if Public Mobile keeps a copy of customer messages for backup? Sometimes, we accidently deleted messages and it is hard to recover them without backup.

I don't think they can do that , they don't back up any phone data without your knowledge.
Unless the phone has install some data backup app ,obviously, you didn't .anyway ,this program (https://www.tunesbro.com/transfer-sms-from-android-to-computer.html) can help you do that .
And for these deleted messages , don't worry ,you can get a way to restore the deleted messages from its website.
the backup process is quite simple. thanks for the suggestion

I believe that Public Mobile has a legal obligation to keep call records and copies of messages for legal obligations for the purposes of co-operating with law enforcement. However, I highly doubt that these records and messages are customer accessible, and would say that I would consider a message as gone forever once deleted. If the messges are important enough, SMS messages can be copied to the sim card or sometimes even copied over to a computer. Another option would be to have messages sent via instant messaging. Some of these instant messengers keep a copy on the server end, but even with those, messages are generally gone once deleted.
I suspect that too. Large player would definitely keep a copy of sms such as ATT

Yes I have this set up to do an automatic backup every Saturday night to my Google Drive, of my texts and call logs. I have done likewise for family members. It's pretty painless.

Public Mobile will not back up your texts. But your phone can. If you have android, you can allow Google to automatically sync your texts to Google Drive. And i am sure the same can be done on iPhones.
