Where to get sim, Walmart not giving it

So I went to my local Walmart I'm Calgary, and asked for a PM sim. 

The lady told me she can't sell me just the sim. She said they can only sell plans and Sims together.

Is this true? If so, where else can we get just the sim??

I went into the one in Pitt Meadows BC and they said they were out of stock.  They have an in house plan that is similar but not as good as PM. I thought that just maybe they are out of stock on purpose so they can up sell their plan?  But it was not mentioned.

I think some employees are saying Walmart does not sell public mobile sims just to get a commission on the sale of a Cell + Plan.

Times are getting tougher to survive for most people.

You cant just buy " Most Cell Phones " without buying a plan, Locked in deal at Retail stores.

The employee at my Walmart said All Walmarts sell public mobile Sims.

I would suggest anyone who is told Walmart does not sell Sims ask to speak to the Store Manager.

Sorry I will not state my Walmart location small town.

I have gone into Real Canadian Superstore and used my Presidents Choice Optimum card points towards the sim card purchase and just had to pay tax.  Assuming you have a PC optimum card!!

@BEER it's called "SIM swap scam/fraud". Doesn't require any technical hacking on the SIM card (if such a thing can be done). All that's needed is the SIM card's unique number (which is, of course, clearly printed on the SIM card).

• In Calgary try London Drugs....I had no hassle here in Maple Ridge BC. 
• EBAY...I have bought other SIMS....no problem.

Many Canadian sellers on Ebay.ca  selling for $7.65 with free shipping. 

Other cell providers are virtually giving away their Sim Cards - for example Lucky Mobile Sim cards for $1 each with free shipping.
