When US roaming, is my number still international for Americans?

When I'm in the US using the Public Mobile roaming package, can Americans text and call me without being billed an international call/text? Like, does the roaming package get me a domestic-like phone number for Americans, or only the ability for me to make the call/text as though I'm an American?

Add getting a google voice number to the options while in the US.  Once back in Canada, Amerifriends can call and text the google voice number for free.  Google voice numbers are relatively easy to hang onto for life.
