So I tried porting it myself online, but failed. I want to transfer the number from Freedom Mobile to Public Mobile; however, Freedom's account number has characters. It didn't fit in the system. I received a message from Public Mobile indicating that the port has failed.

You need to activate your SIM and create an account on the PM app and not on the website.
Just download the app and complete up to step 6. Just enter the account number.
