Volte device expansion

  • I have a fig flip 2 pro device that supports all the 4g bands that public mobile users but I only get 3g. I am curious if the list will be expanded once the 3g sunset happens in Winnipeg. I checked the device on public mobile by imei and it says it's not supported. I also checked Telus as I believe Public mobile uses Telus towers and it says it's supported on Telus. Hopefully I can continue using public. But may be forced to switch.

Which goes back to my first statement of an updated device list. I also tested other carriers Bell also confirmed that the device was compatible. I only mentioned Telus as Public mobile uses Telus.

I did that and it stated not compatible however Telus says that it is compatible on their network so I believe it's Public Mobile that has not approved the device on their networks.

There are also mistakes in the Telus list.  As with any large database, there will be some errors.

Check the IMEI of the Fig Flip 2 to see if it is VoLTE.

It might be compatible but it will work on 1900Mhz 3G if the frequency is in your area.

Probably won't be much changed in a couple months when the final switch is pulled. As far as my understanding there is a slight difference between the devices Telus supports and the ones Public supports even though they use the same network.
