Voice Mail error message when dialing in

I am trying to dial into my voice mail by dialing 1 but I keep getting an error message - I can't make out the error message number but it says the number cannot be completed as dialed.  What am I doing wrong? I haven't set up the voicemail properly.  I went to the Add Ons page and clicked on reset my password.  Nothing is working.  Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I think on a lot of phones, the special "1" speed dial for voicemail can only be set by the carrier. it's greyed out on my android, and I can't change it. Opening a ticket to ask the moderators if they can reset your account may help update it if it isn't set correctly.

Otherwise, you can set a different key to speeddial a voicemail access number, ie 8 for "V"

But you should still be able to do the standard press and hold 1 to get to the voicemail system.

There ought to be a setting somewhere in your phone to set that up. Then just make it one of those 4001 numbers. It also really should have been set up when you inserted the activated SIM.

Thank you!  This worked perfectly.  And is slightly better than using the 647-580-4001 number because I can remember my phone number better than trying to remember a different number. 🙂

 Thank you.  dialing 647-580-4001 got me in to the voicemail menu.

@jv987, what I did when I created my voicemail was call my own phone number. Without the 1 too. And from there, since you voicemail isn't activated, you would need to listen carefully, and follow the instructions.

When you access your voicemail, you can either create a contact number as 'voicemail' and what it does it calls it without no dial tone, and you have access to your account.
