Upgrading subscription package

When I chose "change now" choice for an upgraded package vs "at renewal"  I found out that the the change doesn't come into effect until the renewal date. What the hey?

Bit of a conundrum , I wanted an upgrade for roaming in Mexico next week. Looks like I lose both ways unless I can cancel today's upgrade which looks like I should do.

@Victoria_Bro  It’s recommended to use the change in renewal so you don’t lose $ on your pre paid plan , there’s is no pro rating for unused time ,if you choose change now you will be billed right away and start new 30 day pre paid subscription right away so unless your outta data and don’t want to buy data add on or just need more data then your current plan it wise to use the change on renewal so you don’t lose money and the plan will change on your next renewal date and you get all your moneys worth
