I have tried what you suggested and also turned iPhone off and on again , the only things I can switch to is either 3G and LTE , there is no 4G ….my phone is the IPhone XR ..I read that LTE is a half way point between 3 and 4G?  But still not a solid 4G?

@CBuchanan  If you want the best available speed having purchased a 4G plan set your Cellular Data Options for Voice & Data to LTE.

@CBuchanan

LTE=4g. it's best to look at the term interchangeable. you'll only confuse yourself. you need to contact customer support

@CBuchanan

what version of iPhone? is the preferred network set to 3g/wcdma?

@CBuchanan   check and change the network to 4G

Open “Settings.”
Tap “Cellular.”
Choose “Cellular Data Options.”
Pick “Voice & Data.”
Make sure 4G is selected

How do you know you are still on "3G"?  Have you conducted a speed test?  Does your plan show up as the 4G plan in your PM account?  Did you upgrade right away or set it to upgrade when the plan renews?

Remember that the only difference between "3G" and "4G" plans are the LTE data speeds with up to 3Mbps up/down and up to 100Mbps up/down respectively.

@CBuchanan First, login My Account using Incognito mode, it should show clearly that your current plan is one of the 4G plan

Then on your phone, check your Preferred Network type, make sure it has LTE or 4G selected

Then you can try a speed test using the app , like
