Unable to transfer number from Koodo

livton

I signed up 24 hours ago and had sent all the information to the moderators to have my number transfered from Koodo.  I have not received any reply and the number has not been transfered.  it says it takes 2-4 hours.  What is taking so long?

I don't work for Public Mobile, but have the ability to make minor changes to messages, and I have deleted the account number for you.

Post paid

You should be able to do a number port from Koodo postpaid to Public Mobile through self-serve.  If it gives you an error message saying to go to the community for assistance or something simiilar, you'll have to contact Public Mobile customer servcie by contact the user Moderator_Team.

@uni4ms

Anyhow...explain exactly what issue you are having...someone here may have a solution

If its prepaid you will have to message the mods. You can do so by clicking here.

Make sure the number remains active or it can get lost from Koodo.

If its post paid it should be able to transfer just using the fields in the activation form or using the change phone number under the my plan & addons section in the account login.

Thanks, I found all the required info to send them on another feed, so hopefully that will speed it up.  I just sucks that you read their pamphlets and web page saying 2-4 hours so you make the switch and hope that your kids school doesn't call because your number hasn't switched in over 24 hours.

The moderator response time depending on the number of requests that they received.

Before last weekend, it was within 24 hours.

I was not with PM  longer enough to experience 2 -  4 response time.  But according the PM old timers, the response time was within a few hours over 2 years ago.

As @RobertQc mentioned, put your old sim in and keep using it until it doesn't work anymore. Than you know the port is complete.

@livtonPut your old Koodo sim card back. Keep using the Koodo sim until it stops working.

The moderator wait time is around 48 - 72 hours.

Are you trying to port a Koodo prepaid number to PM?

If yes, you need to wait for moderator.

But you can use self serve online if you are port a postpaid Koodo number.

They should not be advertising as 2-4 hours. There is a better chance to get struck by lightning than getting their "best case scenario" The wait time seems to have gone back up to days, despite a week ago it was down to 24 hours. I know it sucks. 😞 They are really busy but working hard to respond to each inquiry. Support staff is small but that’s why this service is such low cost. Rest assured you WILL be taken care of.

For me, the extremely rare time I need a moderator to respond I have to wait but the rest of the time I save a lot of money. I save about $490 a year with public mobile so its worth it.

It typically should be within 48 hours.  No need to send multiple messages unless you forgot to include your identity / pin number for verification then sending a second message (Click to send) will speed it up for you as the first response from them will be "who are you? " or "whats your pin?".
