That would certainly explain the current issues some people are experiencing.
@kb_mv , menu items like this are phone specific. On my Umidigi, there was a VoLTE setting that I can toggle. On my numerous Pixel phones, there is no VoLTE setting. I am not super familiar with iPhones, I recall they have a voice and data setting that can be toggled to LTE.

no, you cannot enable VoLTE yourself, PM pushes something to hide the toggle on most phones

@kb_mv I think it can be either. There's no VoLTE toggle on my iPhone 13 but it has VoLTE. When I had an android phone on another non-Telus carrier I had a VoLTE toggle but they didn't allow VoLTE. One or two people on here have said they have the toggle on more recent iPhones than mine so I don't think there's a definite answer but I was under the impression it was generally enabled by default with no toggle on approved phones. Edited to add, there are still people here whose otherwise VoLTE capable phones drop from LTE to 3G when making calls which implies they aren't all enabled for VoLTE by PM.

i surely wish there is no whitelist, but there is no announcement there, and the whitelist page still in the Help section
and around 2 weeks or so, I remember still seeing someone need to change to T-Mobile and use 2G to receive calls, so I don't think the no whitelist thing is real, and the 2G is definitely still in some area in US, not fully shutdown yet

There is no more VoLTE whitelist
Supposedly, yet there are still people posting here who seemingly are having VoLTE issues with phones that are not on the whitelist. If their data and texting are working but not phone calls, what else could be the reason?

without a Public Mobile volte enabled cellphone, you won't be able to make or receive calls while in USA. You see, in the US they've shut down their 3g network that 's used to make calls there...now you can only make calls using volte enabled phones. You can text and use data, but you need to enable Roaming in settings. If you have Whatsapp, you'll be able to call other Whatsapp'ers using either local wifi or your PM data. It's a great app to use actually...give it a try. The people you wish to call need to have whatsapp on their phone as well.

what phone do you have? Your phone might not be one whitelisted on PM VoLTE list. But try changing network to 2G and connect to T-Mobile
