Hi community, I just activated a public mobile in halifax, nova scotia. I am able to use data and send/recieve sms, but I can't make or receive calls. I checked the phone compatibility as I have a phone purchased from India and there is no compatibilty issue. Kindly advise upon how to resolve the isssues.

Did you checked with willmyphonework.com? If it's compatible and you have tried what other customers told you ..you can write a message to the moderator here...https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 and explain what happened. Waiting time is few hours to 2 days.

How did you check compatibility? If phone has LTE that Public uses, it will say compaible, but if it doesn't have the 3g that Public Mobile uses, you can't make or receive calls.

You could double check compatibility of your phone on the website:
You probably tried re-booting your phone already.
You could also try the lost/stolen phone trick, which seems to reset your SIM card.
To report your phone lost/stolen. Login to your account. Choose Plans and Add-ons tab. Then choose Lost/Stolen Phone tab. The choose Suspend Service tab. Logout. Wait few minutes. Login in and report your phone found.

@jicksysusan do you have access to another phone you can try the SIM card in? If you have another phone (friends/family) try the SIM in their phone.
Also, try their SIM in your phone.
What is the phone model?

Welcome. Are your porting a mobile phone number? It can take about 2h for it to fully port.
