US calling

I have the $50 US Call and Text Plan. My wife is in the States for a few days, texting is no problem but phoning goes straight to voice-mail. Any ideas?

@Boodie what phone does your wife have? It sounds like she may not have a VoLTE compatible device.

Also ensure you have her network settings on 4G preferred, not 5G.

just to confirm, your wife who is in US now has the Canada-US plan?

Critical part to US roaming depends on T-Mobile/AT&T coverage and whether you can connect successfully onto either network.  But since she can receive text, she properly can connect to one of the two networks.

With voice issue, make sure VoLTE is enabled on the device setting.  And if it does not work, try to change the Network to T-Mobile ONLY, and change  Preferred Network Type or Network Mode to 2G and see if the calls go through.

Also, download VoIP app TextNow as a workaround to make calls and text if  Wifi or roaming data are available
