Had you previously attempted to buy it while the prior ones were still showing on your account? Do you still show the $30 (or at least) in your balance? Did you click the little spinner refresh icon under the Shop Add-ons button to see if any roaming add-ons were still showing?

it’s a bundle data/text/talk renewal that ended 3 days ago. Can’t get the purchased add on to activate.

Where does one buy this card?

Just as @dust2dust noted, they do put advertising on the app when you are using it but I just ignore them.
They also make money on upgrades so you can lock your number if you don't use it on a monthly bases, sales of their SIMs, upgrade to high speed data/month and ads free upgrades.
To go around not making calls or text monthly, I Iogin into my account on my laptop and text myself to my PM number if I can't make it to the states to make a call or text.
Calling and texting is completely free.

I assume the data is handy by not strictly necessary if you always have access to WiFi?
Ads. I absolutely hate ads. Along with all the invasive datamining and telemetry they carry. I'd be willing to buy the "upgrades" which avoid them. If I used the service often enough to consider it worthwhile.

@Korth- They sell the sim. They sell upgrades like data and no ads and keeping your number even when a long time of no usage.
The sim service is only available in the states. The voip app is available here (and wherever).
Adding - and, of course, ads.

That is why I got the TextNow SIM for FREE calling and texting (no wifi required…on data) while I was in the US this afternoon.

Many people around here call it a "two step" process.
You must pay to buy the add-on, as you have.
You must then login to Self-Serve (or use the *611) to actually add the add-on to your account.
The US Roaming add-ons become active the moment this is done.
I think they have to run through their whole 15-day duration, I don't think there's any way to deactivate or end them when they're active. I might be wrong about this detail, sorry, the last time I used one was back in the pre-pandemic era of 10-day roaming add-ons, the add-ons have changed since then so they way they work may have changed as well.

Is this a re-buy? Do you see the amount in your balance? After clicking the spinner refresh icon under the Shop add-ons button, do you see roaming add-ons with like 0/15 days?

Do you have a 15 day roaming package right now? And you are renewing the same add on. Normally, you have to wait 24 hours after the 15 day add on expires until you can purchase the same addon.
There are also caching issues with the My account page. Try to login again, but first clear cache or incognito mode. Or try a different web browser. See whether you see the add on. Or available funds equivalent to what you purchased.

@Mikecooper you are in US now? which state/city?
did you buy the data roaming only? or Talk/Text or Talk/Text/Data?
first, try to connect to T-Mobile and let us know if it works. If it is set to Automatic connect in the Network selection and unable to connect, try to change to Manual connect
if you have data roaming, make sure you enable Roaming data on your device
if you trying voice, try to enable VoLTE on your phone
