US Roaming

I and my wife purchased US roaming unlimited talk. We are in the USA. I cannot call her on her cell, or vice versa. I can text, but cannot call anyone, anywhere.

What phones are you both using? I suspect you're using phones that aren't VoLTE compatible, which means your phone is trying to drop down to 3G to make phone calls. There is no longer a 3G network in the US, hence phone calls aren't working.

A workaround is to try and force your phone onto Tmobile's 2G network, if available.

Alternatively you could download a third party VOIP app for free phone service you can use over wifi. It won't be your own number, but could work to make the odd phone call. TextNow and Fongo are two examples.

Depending on your answer to what phones you're using, I might suggest upgrading to a newer/compatible device to avoid this in future.

@MrXFro

if your device is VoLTE enabled, calling should be possible.

If it is not, you may have to ‘force’ your network connection down to 2G to access the calling function on the T-Mobile network. The problem is not all devices can be switched down to 2G.

Yeah, it sucks when it comes to calling due to the decommissioning of the 3G network in the USA

@MrXFro

Do you see the US calling add on in your self service account?

Try rebooting your phone.

Choose T mobile as your carrier.  IF that does not work, Choose AT&T.

I should add, that I cannot open a ticket - it fails. Just want to call my Cable provider down here, but can't. So, do I go and buy a Mint SIM just so I can make a phone call? Life was so much simpler when you could call a person.
