I pay for the $40 plan with 60GB of data for use within Canada, US, and Mexico (unlimited minutes and messaging within the three countries as well). I live in Victoria BC and travel to Port Renfrew often and loose Canadian service frequently along the highway and my phone connects to US carriers. My problem is that I get a text message which tells me I need buy and add on to access roaming and cannot use my plan WHICH INCLUDES US SERVICE. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? When I go into setting I don’t even have the option to turn roaming on as if Public Mobile has not given my e-sim permission to have roaming yet. I’m confused and disappointed, please help.

Resolved!
I had an old SIM from a different carrier in and my public one is an e-SIM. For some reason my iPhone 12 was only allowing me to change settings for the old plan (discontinued). To fix it I had to remove the old SIM and restart my phone and I could toggle roaming on like normal.
I hope this helps anyone in the future.

Everyone will get that automatic message to purchase the us add-on no matter the plan you have once you get to the border.
But with the plan, off course you don't need to purchase additional as it's included.
To turn roaming on, you can search for it in your phone's settings.
I found mine in Connections/ Mobile Networks /Roaming.

Ignore the “welcome to USA” message about roaming — and make sure that your phone does have roaming enabled
I’ve never had issues with my iPhone in the USA or Mexico but some incompatible devices might be an issue. You can also try to select LTE and/or cellular providers manually

Hey @Waves123
It's a standard text that is sent to anyone that connects to a US telco. Just ignore it. I get it all the time when I'm in the US and I have the same plan.
