US Data - NYC

JennLC

Hi, can anybody confirm that they have recently used their US data in New York City?  I'll be travelling in the near future and want to make sure my data will work.   I've noticed that I often lose coverage locally when I'm in a densely populated area, so going to  the heart of NYC concerns me.

Thanks!

i used in NYC earlier.  Got connected automatically to T-Mobile and used it no problem

i briefly connected to the other 2 networks and both work

@JennLC  Then you will be fine calls are the tricky part of roaming text and data are easy part especially with so much free wifi around

I'm not worried about voice calls, just concerned about data.  So fingers crossed data will be no problem

Thanks for this info. I never knew about this white list. This is helpful!

@JennLC  What phone do you have ? If it’s not on the voLTE whitelist , then you won’t have the best experience we can check for you or check here yourself . If it’s on the list you shouldn’t have any issues

hi @JennLC

data should have no problem

and what phone do you have?  some phones not compatible with PM with VoLTE so voice calls might have problems on those phones

I'm new to public and haven't user my phone in the nyc yet, I was just hoping I could get some confirmation from users that their phones have worked in nyc.

hi @JennLC so, you had problems on NYC before?  No problem for me and remember you can try connect to all 3 networks and test, T-Mobile, At&t and Verizon.  And better to change network mode to 4G or LTE

@JennLC  If you have CAN/US plan or U.S. roaming add on it should be good to go . Just put data roaming on in phone settings and set phone to 4G/LTE not 5G and make sure your connected to T mobile AT&T or Verizon , also make sure your phone is on the PM volLTE whitelist if it’s not making calls will be a issue
