I live in a border zone and make trips about once or twice a month to the state for the afternoon. It’s not practicable for me to pay for a 10 day add-on if it’s only going to be 1 or 2 afternoons in a month and I may not even use my phone.
Would my phone even let me make a call in the states or do you require an add-on for it?

I switched from Wind to Public Mobile recently. I switched over because the data coverage was pretty spotty in the city and I often go out in the county areas and I wanted to have data coverage out there.

Good to hear @mschmuty PM unfortunately just doesn't cut it for users who hop over to the
States every so often. Wind/Freedom is much cheaper for that sort of thing or doing what you did - going the US sim card route.

Thanks,
I looked into knowroaming and I got there SIM sticker for $30. Found a half off promo and ended up getting $15 voucher on my account to use. ended up costing me about 17US for it.

If you have WiFI access, try the fongo app, or google hangouts. Popular options for voice calls on WiFi. Even the Facebook Mesenger app.

No your phone would not work in the united states without an US add-on. If youre not gonna be using it alot, best thing to do is get a prepaid account for just long distance.
All the best
