US AddOn - Starting time

I'm sorry to ask this, but I seem to find conflicting answers.

When does the 15 day US addon start? On the day I purchase it? Or when I start using it?

it starts as soon as it's successfully purchased in your account. I use to wait until I get across to first border city in US and get to a Walmart or somewhere with free wifi. I log in to my PM account and make the roaming add-on purchase.  (that was before I got a free TextNow sim for free calling while US)

 So, best to leave it closer to the time you need it unless your trip is shorter than 15 days

The time starts the minute it's approved. So best to purchase 1 day prior to traveling.
