Yolandaaa

Hi, I am leaving Canada for 4 months, can I suspend my phone number for 4 months without any charge? So that I can continue to use this phone number when I go back.

@Yolandaaa

Here are the options for your pm services when traveling away from from Canada....

  1. You can turn off autopay and allow the account to suspend at the of your current 30 day cycle but this is your least advantageous option. Pay and reactivate by day 85 or so.
  2. If you have an account balance that exceeds your plan amount then you need to suspend via the lost/stolen feature in your account before midnight eastern on the evening of your renewal. Then on day 85 or so resume your service to pay and reactivate.
  3. Suspending via lost/stolen before midnight eastern will keep your voicemail active allowing you retrieve voicemail and any verification sent by phone calls. However your rewards will not be applied to your account. CSA contact after paying and reactivating is necessary to have the rewards applied manually.*
  4. Voicemail can be accessed by calling your pm number from a different phone by calling your phone # and pressing * once connected and entering your 4 digit voicemail pin #.
  5. If you don't have an account balance or enough balance to cover your plan amount you can suspend via lost/stolen after midnight but before 2 am eastern on the day of your renewal. Once your rewards have been applied (usually by 12:15 am et) then suspend your account. Voicemail access will be lost.
  6. Switching to the $15 plan with rewards helping to cover a partial or full amount of your plan allows you to call forward your pm number to your voip number (like textnow or fongo) before you leave Canada.. Now any incoming calling to your pm number will ring thru to your voip number while on wifi or mobile data (w/a local or global sim card) You can access your voip voicemail for all voicemail messages.**

*Applies to $$ rewards customers only.

**If you travel to the US you must remove the sim card from your phone to ensure your sim card does not connect to a US cell tower. If you leave your pm sim card at home with someone if anything happens to cause your call forwarding to default to voicemail they can reset call forwarding for you. ( ie. Like the roll out of VoLTE has caused a glitch recently.)

Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 89/90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Do not leave this til the last day in case you have an issue and need the assistance of customer support. Happy travels!

HI@Yolandaaa   Yes, you can do this.  You can suspend it for at most 90 days.

So, let say you are leaving in 2 weeks, disable Pre-authorized payment before you go.  Mark down the first day of the suspension and do some calculation for the 90 days.  Come online on the 86th days and manually pay for one month to resume service.  Yes, on 86th days and not 90th days just in case any system problem.  And make sure you see your account status changed to ACTIVE!!! (best to use Incognit/Private/Secret mode to login My Account)

You can suspend your account for a maximum of 90 days without losing your number. After 90 days, your number will be gone and your account will be permanently closed.

- Downgrade your Plan to cheapest $15 Plan.

- Make sure your account has no more funds in the Available Funds

- Disable Autopay. Your account will be suspended on next renewal due to no pay.

- Log in around 88th day and pay for the next 30 days. Remember to log in as after 90 days of no pay account will be deleted.

This place has a 3 month (90 day) grace period of suspension before they would fully deactivate the account. So depending on your current end date and when you return, you could renew on day 85 and maybe come back to working service.

Adding - turn off autopay in the account. If you have a balance that can pay for the plan then you'll need to use the lost/stolen function to suspend the account.
