I’m having an issue transferring my bell number to public mobile. I never received the text from bell so called them and the manually approved the transfer. Right now I can call and text out but I’m not receiving calls or text. The number in question is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

See @computergeek541 , here's the confusing part because it sounds like it's a porting issue. Here below you say it may not be recommended. Yet another Oracle @softech says to call the porting team. Two Oracles saying two different things. Who do we as a community take the advice from?

I didn't send a private message. My advice to actually not to call the porting team yet until a few other questions have been answered first. While calling them could end up fixing things, it could also be premature if the number porting is still in process.

It can take a few hours for the number porting to finalize if you ported from another cell phone copany. Until then, your Bell service will continue working. Is phone number coming from Bell Mobility or from Bell Canada. Transfers from Bell Canada could take a few days as it would be a landline.
