Hi, I am in the process of switching my service provider from Bell to Public Mobile. I wish to keep my current phone number. I was asked to enter my IMEI #, I accidentally entered it incorrectly or I had left out one number. I am hoping you can help me to transfer my phone number with the correct IMEI.

@rhymobot You can either select to transfer your number during the activation process or take a PM number, make sure everything works OK, and then go back into your account and select to transfer your Bell number. You do need to have your Bell sim in the phone until you receive the text from them asking you to text back YES to authorize them to release your number and you have to do that within 90 minutes of receiving the text.

Hi I am also switching from Bell to PM and it has to be done today as my new cycle with Bell starts on the 24th. I got a sim yesterday and the app and I got to the point of signing in, choosing my plan, and entering credit card details. At what point do I choose the option for porting the number over? I didn't want to submit payment until I knew about that.

Hello!
I’ve sent you the number to the porting department via the community mailbox. Please look for it there. You will need to provide them with the account number from Bell along with the number you wish to port. Giving the IMEI number doesn’t really work and causes the issues you are experiencing.
Regardless they will be able to fix it for you. Just make sure your bell account is still active and that you have the Bell SIM in your phone. You will receive a text that you have to respond “Yes” to in order to authorize the port. Once the Bell sim loses service is your sign that the port is complete and to switch to your PM sim and reboot your device.
